Buy the Best Camera You Can Afford

Lyn Starnes

You do not need an expensive camera and lens to take reasonable photographs.  Cell phones and “starter” or inexpensive cameras will allow you start out in photography.

Hint:  make sure this first camera is able to shoot in manual mode.

Most of us want to buy the latest, greatest gear but that camera may be so complicated and sophisticated that it is impossible to learn how to use the features of the camera to your advantage.

Learn what you like to take pictures of.  Your family?  Close-ups of flowers?  Food? As you specialize in an area of photography, your first camera may not be the gear you need.  Start with something that won’t break the bank and practice, practice, practice!
